If you love squirrels buy this puppet. If you love puppets, buy this puppet. I buy folkmanis puppets for my nieces and nephews for their birthdays and Christmas. Not only do they love them but the grown ups enjoy playing with them as well. This squirrel puppet is very detailed and lovable. Only two things concern me. 1: The tail is hairy so be careful if you are giving it to a baby who likes to put things in their mouth. 2: The whiskers although are soft might be a hazard to a babies eyes. We have not had any accidents yet but I just get nervous when my nephew hugs the squirrels face to face.

This little guy is lifelike with tons of personality. He's probably about the same size as a real squirrel, and the detail is awesome. I use it with my 8 month old son, and he's just fascinated by it. He likes puppets in general, but this one is his favorite. It's such great play for kids -- much better for them than TV. As he grows, the dialog I create will certainly change and get more sophisticated, but for now it's the "shake your bushy tail" song and tickles and goofy gestures. I wished everything in life were machine-washable, but at least you can spot clean it if it gets dirty.
