My daughter wanted this puppet as soon as she saw it and I bought it for her birthday. She already had a miniature goat and a donkey puppet from the same company, and we have so much fun with them. The macaw has already developed quite a personality and thinks everything is "glorious." These wonderful Folkmanis puppets are beautifully made and really encourage imagination.

This is a really cute puppet. it has two types of fur on it and leather feet and beak along with a long, wonderful tail. However, I can't help but being a little disappointed in it. You can't move the feet or the wings. The only hole is to move the beak and since it is leather, it can't move that much. Really cute and good for people who can't have macaws but want one, I just wish the wings moved. But don't get me wrong, it is super life-like and cute and I am so glad I bought it.

This is a great puppet! It is not as big as I thought it would be, but if it were any larger it would extend past my elbow and make it difficult to control. From head to top of the tail is as long as my arm to the elbow, the tail is almost as long as the body. I would guess that it is close to lifesize, but not a lot of stuffing, so it is not heavy. The tail also has "beads" in it to weight it down so it hangs properly - nice touch. Most of the puppet is made with craft fur. The red on its chest and legs has black "roots" which gives it a "real" look. The beak and feet are made out of black vinyl that is a little stiff, so it is durable but a little hard to control. The space for your hand in the beak is a little large (for a woman's hands), so that makes it also hard to control, but there was some paper in there when it arrived - maybe I was supposed to leave that in? The tail and legs cover the armhole nicely, so it looks real. There are also little holes built into its legs so you can make him dance!
